Course Details

At the core of every civilization, society or family is language. Language and literature are inseparable. Literature reflects life, society, culture, values, and tradition. Working in more than two languages, English along with the mother tongue, shall enable the learner to explore literature and culture across languages and borders. English, the lingua franca of the globe enables learners to empower themselves with the essentialities of the modern world like understanding the technology, developing communicative skills, boosting confidence to enhance career growth, etc. English emphasizes the ability to write well, do innovative scholarly and critical work in specialized field, and to make striking presentations.

With good knowledge of English, learners shall appreciate the language of the past while contributing to the narrative of the future. English shall deepen the students’ understanding of cultures across the globe, honing their skills for a more inclusive and critical understanding of the world itself. Learners are prepared to be critical readers, clear thinkers, and persuasive writers.

Value added programmes on Communicative Skills, Written Skills in English, English for Competitive Exams are held every year to benefit the students.

The students may look forward to ‘The Synergia Club’ and ‘Shakespeare Club’ activities all through the academic year.

Generic English - L2 :  Compulsory course for first four semesters for students of all streams

Additional English - L1:  Language course (Shall be offered if the student has not studied Hindi, Kannada or Sanskrit in their PU or 12th class)
